A quick PERIL RPG update:
The Wizard class does not have sub classes like Druid, Cleric, Necromancer, etc. Instead your spell selection allows you to focus in on the type of Wizard you want to be.
Spells are only separated by Alignment: Law/ Neutral/ Chaos. Your alignment influences your ability to cast spells of a different alignment.
In addition, I am looking to switch up treasure type a bit by basing it on creature HD. That may not work exactly as I hope, but its a work in progress.

That's a great idea having alignment effect the type of spells cast.
It is a simplification of the standard alignment system. Having domains of magic available to certain alignments.
Thanks for the feed back gentlemen.
Any alignment could cast any spell--it is simply more difficult to cast a non aligned spell.
In addition the Expert class will have the ability to chose to cast spells but must be reach certain levels. For example at second level, an Expert could choose to learn Minor Magics (0 level spells) and at 4th level could choose to learn First Circle spells (level 1).
Those wanting a multi-class character would pick Expert class. Where the Fighter and Wizard classes are the specialist classes.
More to come...
