Good idea...but not good enough...

First, a very heartfelt thanks to those who kindly offered a commitment of their time, energy, creativity and talents to creating an OSR Halloween adventure "advent calendar" book.  I also want to say a special thanks to those who got the word out on their own blogs. Unfortunately, it is not to be this year.

Sadly (from my perspective) we did not rally enough interested parties to make it happen.  The short timeline, and perhaps the idea itself, may have caused its unfortunate demise.

For those who were inspired and willing to create your own Halloween inspired adventure, I hope you will continue to create one! So many talented folks committed and I was really looking forward to seeing and playing through your adventures.  Hopefully I, and the rest the blogosphere, will still have an opportunity to do so.

In the meantime, I plan on creating a weekly Halloween inspired Pocket Full of Peril for October.  I will float the idea again earlier next year, like a zombie, you just can't keep a good idea down.

To all who offered generously their time and talent, thanks again!

Sorry the idea didn't take, but maybe next year. I suppose it would be a good idea to start things earlier in September next time around?

@Eli-It just didn't happen this year...but there is always NEXT year!

@Drance-I agree completely. I do think inspiration hit me late, and the timeline may have worked against the idea. I think I'll start on Sept. 1st next year, now that the idea is in the bullpen awaiting a call up! :)

Well, it's too bad this isn't happening this year, but I've already got an idea or two, so I'll try to get them written up and on my blog sometime this coming month.

Well, I want to go on record as saying that it's not that the idea was bad, but that the lead time was too short. I hope you will cook on this some more and put it out there in time for next year.

It might be interesting if you took the 30 vignettes in early, then made the 31st a big one that somehow tied all the weird terror of the previous 30 into a final adventure.

Anyway, I hope my thoughts will spark some good stuff in your process, if you stay interested.

@LG-can;pt wait to see what you do, and more importantly PLAY IT!

@theo-yup time was the enemy, but I will propose it again next...with more time. I agree the vignettes could be an for inspiration, for #31-thanks for the the great idea!

I thought about trying to put something like this together a couple of years ago - the world needs more Halloweeny D&D adventures IMHO. Kudos

@ZB--there is always next year! I plan on an earlier kick-off next year and I hope it will meet with more success.
